Family Ministry Pastor

Overview

Epic Church is a dynamic and growing church in the heart of San Francisco, currently serving a vibrant congregation of 1,000 people in Sunday attendance. We are seeking a passionate, energetic, and visionary Family Ministry Pastor who is committed to nurturing the faith of the next generation. The Family Ministry Pastor will oversee the growth and development of children’s ministry programs for children from infancy to 5th grade, creating an environment where children can experience God’s love, learn biblical truths, and grow in their relationship with Jesus.

Responsibilities 
  • Vision & Leadership:
    • Lead and develop the overall vision and strategy for all Family Ministries in alignment with Epic Church’s mission and values.
    • Cultivate a dynamic, safe, and engaging ministry where children can grow in their faith.
    • Provide spiritual and administrative leadership for kids ministry volunteers and staff.
    • Champion the importance of children’s ministry within the church community.
  • Program Development & Curriculum:
    • Design and implement age-appropriate biblical teaching and programs for infants through 5th grade.
    • Select and manage curriculum that fosters biblical literacy, creativity, and spiritual formation.
    • Regularly assess and refine the programs to ensure they meet the needs of children, parents, and volunteers.
    • Oversee the scheduling of classes, special events, and seasonal activities such as Egg Hunt and kids camps.
  • Volunteer Recruitment & Training:
    • Recruit, train, and empower a diverse team of volunteers to serve in various roles within the kids ministry.
    • Develop and implement ongoing training for volunteers to foster a culture of excellence, safety, and love for children.
    • Provide consistent support and encouragement to volunteers, ensuring a positive and effective serving experience.
  • Safety & Environment:
    • Ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children.
    • Maintain child protection policies, safety protocols, and secure check-in/check-out procedures.
    • Work with staff to ensure all spaces are properly equipped and visually engaging for children.
  • Parental Engagement & Communication:
    • Partner with parents and families to support their spiritual growth and involvement in the church community.
    • Communicate regularly with parents through email, social media, and in-person meetings about ministry updates, events, and opportunities.
    • Provide resources and guidance to parents to help them nurture their children’s faith at home.
  • Administrative & Organizational Responsibilities:
    • Manage Family Ministry ministry budget and resources.
    • Track and report ministry metrics (attendance, volunteer participation, etc.) to leadership.
    • Coordinate with the church staff and other ministry leaders to ensure a seamless experience for families at Epic Church.
Qualifications  
  • Strong personal faith in Jesus Christ and a passion for working with children and families.
  • Experience in children’s ministry leadership, preferably in a large church setting (3+ years).
  • Active participation in the Epic community (growing spiritually, groups, service, giving, inviting others)
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, lead, and develop volunteers.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
  • Creative, energetic, and adaptable with a heart for reaching and discipling children.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with child development and best practices for children’s ministry.
  • A degree in ministry, education, or a related field is preferred, but not required.

Communications Director

Overview

Epic Church is seeking a passionate and skilled Communications Director to lead and execute our marketing and communications efforts with excellence and integrity. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and excels in team leadership, strategic marketing, and digital content creation.

Responsibilities 
  • Leadership & Strategy:
    • Provide strategic direction and oversight for all church communications and marketing initiatives.
    • Supervise and lead the Communications Staff Team and Volunteer Creative Team to ensure alignment with Epic Church’s mission and vision.
    • Develop and implement effective communication strategies for ministry highlights and campaigns.
  • Content Creation & Brand Management:
    • Oversee strategy for video storytelling, including videography, graphic design, and app-related content.
    • Oversee the creation of high-quality digital content (photography, art direction, and graphic design).
    • Maintain brand consistency across all digital and printed materials within various ministries.
    • Provide art direction and feedback to ensure compelling and cohesive visual communication.
  • Marketing & Digital Engagment:
    • Develop and execute marketing strategies for digital and print campaigns.
    • Manage Google Organic & Paid Search, website SEO, and all digital marketing efforts.
    • Oversee social media, MailChimp/newsletter campaigns, website updates, text campaigns, and other digital platforms.
    • Coordinate communication through channels such as Welcome & Offering, social media, screen rotations, Next Steps, Epic Church App, YouVersion, website, mailers, and more.
  • Copywriting & Editing:
    • Ensure clarity, consistency, and engagement in all written content.
    • Manage website updates (weekly) to keep information relevant and accessible.
    • Oversee email communications via MailChimp/newsletter, setting direction, editing, and deployment (weekly).
    • Develop compelling copy for social media, campaigns, and promotional materials.
  • Meetings & Collaboration:
    • Weekly meetings with Epic Church staff and Communications/Creative team members.
    • 1:1 meetings with supervisor and direct reports.
    • Participate in monthly all-staff meetings.

Production Director

Overview

The Production Director is responsible for leading Epic’s Production Team by providing vision, direction, and support to ensure engaging and distraction-free worship experiences for our Sunday gatherings, Student Nights, and special events. This role oversees all audio, visual, and lighting (AVL) needs across services and events, manages and develops a thriving volunteer team, and ensures that all production systems and environments reflect excellence, creativity, and clarity.

Responsibilities 
  • Leadership & Team Development:
    • Recruit, train, and empower a thriving volunteer team to run Sunday services, Student Nights, and special events.
    • Build effective systems for onboarding, scheduling, communication, and team development.
    • Lead weekly pre-service production meetings and ongoing volunteer training events.
    • Foster a culture of service, encouragement, and excellence within the Production Team.
  • Worship & Event Production:
    • Lead the execution of excellent Sunday worship gatherings (in-person and online).
    • Provide FOH audio leadership during Sunday services and rehearsals.
    • Support the technical needs of Student Nights, Prayer Nights, Nights of Worship, and other ministry events.
    • Oversee AVL production for mid-week band rehearsals and special gatherings.
  • Systems & Operations:
    • Maintain and improve Epic’s production systems, equipment, and workflows.
    • Ensure that all services and events are distraction-free, engaging, and aligned with Epic’s vision.
    • Manage Planning Center Online (PCO) service flows and administrative details for weekly gatherings.
    • Work with staff and contractors as needed to design, upgrade, and maintain AVL infrastructure.
    • Oversee recording, post-production, and uploads of required media content.
  • Collaboration & Future Planning:
    • Partner with Epic’s leadership to align production with worship and creative vision.
    • Evaluate and improve creative systems to better serve the congregation and community.
    • Participate in staff meetings, strategy sessions, and long-term planning conversations.

Operations Director

Overview

The Operations Director serves as a strategic leader responsible for overseeing the administrative, financial, and operational excellence of Epic Church. This role ensures seamless church operations while fostering an environment where people can encounter Jesus and grow in their faith journey. The ideal candidate will be a servant leader who thrives in a dynamic ministry environment and is passionate about stewarding resources to advance God's kingdom.

Responsibilities 
  • Administration & Operations:
    • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements including annual filings, licensing, permits, and business registrations
    • Strategically manage vendor relationships including general contractors, security, custodial services, parking, and professional service providers
    • Lead the church's assimilation strategy to effectively engage attendees in groups, teams, and giving opportunities
      • Implement accountability systems for staff participation in assimilation processes
      • Continuously evaluate and improve engagement strategies
      • Serve as administrator for CRM and Planning Center software systems
    • Develop and oversee comprehensive volunteer management systems
      • Ensure staff excellence in volunteer recruitment, training, and retention
      • Coordinate bi-annual volunteer recruitment campaigns
      • Plan and execute Team Nights for volunteer appreciation and training
    • Manage weekday volunteer teams and coordinate their activities
    • Provide leadership and direction to support staff including Office Manager and Operations/Finance Analyst
    • Coordinate with contracted bookkeeping and HR services
  • Facilities Management:
    • Provide comprehensive oversight of all church facilities and properties
    • Serve as primary contact for current properties and future real estate opportunities
    • Negotiate and manage service agreements for maintenance, insurance, and security
    • Oversee utility management and custodial operations
    • Implement and maintain security protocols across all facilities
  • Financial Stewardship:
    • Partner with Executive Pastor in strategic budget planning and administration
    • Ensure timely completion and distribution of monthly and annual financial reports
    • Support annual board meetings with comprehensive financial analysis and reporting
    • Maintain and develop banking relationships
    • Enhance the church's giving systems and donor engagement
      • Cultivate relationships with donors through strategic meetings and giving campaigns
      • Ensure excellent donor communication through quarterly statements, updates, and notifications
      • Develop and implement giving challenges and stewardship initiatives
  • Event Coordination:
    • Plan and execute major internal church events
    • Evaluate and approve external event requests from community partners
    • Explore and manage event space rental opportunities
    • Develop event budgets and strategic planning
  • Human Resources Leadership:
    • Serve as Human Resources Director for all church employees
    • Lead hiring processes from recruitment through onboarding and integration
    • Manage employee benefits including retirement plans, insurance, and additional benefits
    • Develop and maintain current job descriptions for all positions
    • Support supervisors in conducting meaningful performance reviews
    • Ensure every staff member has a personal and professional growth plan
    • Maintain organizational charts for staff and key volunteer positions
    • Serve as primary liaison with HR contractors
    • Develop and update employee handbook with current policies and procedures

  • Leadership Experience: Proven track record of successfully leading teams and managing multiple priorities

  • Professional Competencies:
    • Strong financial acumen with budget management experience
    • Excellent organizational and project management skills
    • Experience with church management software (Planning Center preferred)
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
