Groups Director

Overview

Epic Church is seeking a passionate, strategic, and relational leader to guide our growing congregation into deeper connection. The Groups Director will design, oversee, and scale a thriving small groups system that supports our rapidly growing church community. Our church averages 1,000 in Sunday attendance with an ambitious vision for greater kingdom impact in our city and the world. This role provides high-level ministry leadership, cultivating a culture where people consistently take next steps in faith, form meaningful relationships, and grow as disciples of Jesus. The ideal candidate excels at building teams, developing leaders, and shepherding people from diverse backgrounds. They bring strong organizational and relational skills, a heart for pastoral care, and proven experience leading volunteer leaders with excellence.

Responsibilities 
  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Lead the congregation in building community and faith through a robust small groups system.
    • Oversee the groups ministry for a growing church reaching 1000+ people weekly.
    • Assist church members in finding suitable small groups, courses, and events that align with their interests and needs.
    • Provide strategic leadership to increase engagement - sign-ups and consistency in attendance.
    • Be a culture carrier for the importance of living and engaging in biblical community.
    • Other ministry support and leadership responsibilities crafted around Epic's needs and your gifting.
  • Team Development:
    • Recruit, develop, and train leaders to facilitate weekly small groups, courses, and one-time events.
    • Develop and shepherd a leadership team that gives oversight to Group Leaders.
    • Identify and invest in emerging leaders with high capacity and spiritual maturity.
    • Provide pastoral care and leadership direction to your team.
Qualifications  
  • Ability to galvanize and mobilize people (leaders and members) toward biblical community
  • Experience leading volunteer teams of high-capacity leaders.
  • Proven ability to recruit and develop potential leaders.
  • Comfortable calling people to take next steps in leadership and spiritual engagement.
  • Experience shepherding a wide demographic of people in spiritual conversations from a strong biblical
    foundation.
  • Experience scaling ministry and systems: increasing groups while providing excellent support to group leaders.
  • Relational and teachable spirit-actively pursuing feedback and coaching.
  • BA or BS preferred.

Digital Content Director

Overview

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Reports to: Communications Director

The Digital Content Director is a hands-on leader responsible for shaping and executing Epic’s visual and creative expression across photo, video, and graphic design. This role combines creative direction, high-level execution, and volunteer leadership to ensure our content is compelling, on-brand, and delivered on time. Because our creative team is volunteer-driven and primarily capture-focused, this role must be highly skilled in photography, videography, post-production and editing to maintain consistency, quality, and momentum. The Digital Content Director works closely with the Communications Director to bring church-wide vision, campaigns, and storytelling to life with proficiency in graphic design.

Responsibilities 

Creative Direction & Production

  • Lead and execute creative direction for photo, video, and design across sermon series, campaigns, events, and ongoing church content
  • Ensure visual consistency and brand alignment across all creative assets.
  • Personally edit and produce key video and photo content to meet quality standards and tight deadlines
  • Create, plan, and manage photo and video assets for social media in collaboration with the Communications Director, including maintaining the content calendar, coordinating post scheduling, and ensuring platform-specific formatting and best practices.
  • Translate ministry vision and messaging into clear, compelling visual storytelling.

Volunteer Leadership & Support

  • Recruit, onboard, and develop creative volunteers (photographers, videographers, editors, graphic designers)
  • Provide clear direction, training, and feedback to empower volunteers to use their gifts effectively
  • Coordinate volunteer capture needs in partnership with the Communications Director
  • Foster a life-giving, encouraging creative team culture

Project & Asset Management

  • Manage creative workflows from capture through final delivery
  • Organize, maintain, and archive digital assets for easy access and reuse
  • Collaborate with the Communications Director to align creative execution with campaign timelines and priorities
  • Ensure all creative deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule

Collaboration

  • Work closely with Communications Director to execute church-wide communication and marketing strategies
  • Partner with staff and ministry leaders to understand creative needs and provide solutions
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors (freelancers, production partners, agencies) on special creative projects as needed
  • Collaborate with in-house creatives, volunteers, and external partners as needed
Qualifications
  • Strong proficiency in creative tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro or equivalent)
  • Demonstrates experience in photo and video editing with a strong eye for storytelling and detail
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communicator who can lead, coach, and collaborate effectively
  • Ability to work independently while thriving in a team-oriented environment
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in creative production, marketing, or related roles
  • Experience working with and leading volunteers preferred
  • Working knowledge of current best practices for high-quality video production
  • Reasonable flexibility to accommodate filming or events outside standard office hours (with offset time approved by supervisor)

Communications Director

Reports to: Executive Pastor of Ministries

Epic Church is seeking a strategic, mission-driven Communications Director to lead and align all church-wide communications. This role is responsible for setting vision, developing strategy, ensuring brand consistency, and building systems that support clear and compelling messaging across every ministry and platform.

This is a strategic leadership role focused on direction, alignment, and oversight - with creative production and digital execution supported by the Digital Content Director, contractors, and volunteer team.

Responsibilities 

Strategic Leadership & Vision

  • Develop and oversee a comprehensive church-wide communications strategy aligned with annual ministry goals.
  • Establish messaging priorities and campaign focus throughout the year.
  • Create and oversee the master editorial and campaign calendar.
  • Ensure proactive planning rather than reactive communication.
  • Evaluate communication effectiveness through analytics, engagement metrics, and feedback.
  • Adjust strategies to improve clarity, reach, and impact

Church-Wide Messaging & Brand Stewardship

  • Serve as primary steward of Epic Church’s brand voice, tone, and visual standards.
  • Ensure consistency across all ministries and communication channels.
  • Oversee messaging for sermon series, ministry initiatives, events, and campaigns.
  • Provide final approval on major communication pieces and campaigns.
  • Safeguard theological accuracy and clarity in written and digital communication.

Marketing Strategy & Digital Growth

  • Develop and oversee marketing strategies for:
    • Sermon series
    • Seasonal initiatives
    • Major events
    • Ministry campaigns
  • Guide paid and organic digital strategies (Google Ads, SEO, analytics oversight).
  • Set direction for email marketing, social media strategy, and website priorities.
  • Monitor performance data and adjust strategy to improve digital engagement and reach.

Cross-Department Collaboration

  • Partner with ministry leaders to clarify communication needs and timelines.
  • Establish clear intake processes and communication workflows.
  • Align internal staff communication with external messaging priorities.
  • Lead planning meetings related to major church-wide campaigns.

Team Leadership & Oversight

  • Lead the Communications Staff Team and Volunteer Creative Team to ensure alignment with Epic Church’s mission and vision.
  • Provide art direction and strategic feedback to ensure brand alignment.
  • Identify opportunities to outsource graphic design or social media support when needed.
  • Foster a healthy, collaborative, and mission-aligned team culture.

Ongoing Director-Level Execution

While primarily strategic, this role will maintain select execution responsibilities:

  • Oversee and contribute to weekly announcements
  • Provide direction, editing, and finalization of weekly newsletter
  • Produce and manage message notes for production
  • Provide final review on key digital content before publication
  • Maintain digital marketing funnels and campaign budgets
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in communications, marketing, or brand leadership
  • Strong strategic planning and organizational skills
  • Experience supervising staff and/or contractors
  • Ability to build systems and workflows
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency (or working knowledge) in:
    • Planning Center Online
    • Google Ads & Analytics
    • Webflow
    • Email marketing platforms
  • Ability to balance big-picture vision with operational oversight
