Unless the Lord

Unless the Lord

We love stepping into things that we know how to do. We like feeling qualified, competent, and up to the task. While this makes sense, it also keeps us from attempting new things or taking risks. We read in the book of Hebrews that, “without faith it is impossible to please God.” We want to please God so of course, we make it our aim to have faith. And at the same time, we often set our lives up so that faith isn’t actually required.

I’m willing to bet there’s something God wants you to build with your life, but you won’t be able to do it without Him. When we sensed God was calling us to start Epic Church, we really knew it wouldn’t go well if He wasn’t involved.

Psalm 127:1-2 Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain. In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat - for he grants sleep to those he loves.

I want to build something great in my life, my marriage, my family, and our church. But if I try to build something that God isn’t building, it will be built in vain. I believe that we all have an “Unless the LORD” reality over our lives.

What are you seeking to build in your life that you could never build without God?

What do you need to ask God to do that you cannot do?

What is God asking you to do that you actually can do?

With God, all things are possible. Without God, we are all quite limited. Make it your ambition to give yourself to what God is building and to ask for His divine intervention.

Much Love,

Ben
